Comments/contents:
People experience places in very different ways. The arts of poetry, storytelling, photography and film offer ways of researching other ways of knowing as well as processing one’s own experience. This seminar seeks to provide a venue for such epistemological dialogue and reflection. What makes it particularly interesting is its composition: twenty participants from the German Jordanian University in Amman, along with twenty from the University of Hamburg. Its hybrid communication format is designed to maximize the quality of the exchange. Small Tandems of 4-5 persons will be formed at the outset. These will decide which venues will be visited on the day designated for excursions. Communication within each Tandem will be maintained by live streaming. Their experiences together will be channeled into a range of artistic forms, which will be prepared for presentation a week later at a plenary Film Festival / Storytelling Event.

Learning objectives:
This seminar seeks to provide a venue for such epistemological dialogue and reflection in relation to controversial places.
