This course is a very interactive course and aims on the one hand at expanding your
knowledge of the German language, on the other hand to give you a broad overview of
German culture and daily life in Hamburg. It addresses those at level A1 (beginners) or
A2 (next-to beginners).
Besides learning German, the following aspects will be focused on: German literature,
films, music, politics, history, things to do in Hamburg, public transport, locations of
tourist interest, communication inside German academia. In general, the curriculum is
very flexible and wishes from students will play a crucial role in forming this course.
The exact times and dates will be decided as a group together at the beginning of the semester.
All teaching material will be provided by the instructor.
Please note: As there will be no final exam at the end of the semester, you cannot obtain
credit points for attending this course.
