The aim of the course is to introduce students to the specifics of communication of non-governmental organizations, their main communication approaches and strategies. The main topics of the course are: communication and public relations of non-governmental organizations, basic strategies, communication channels and tools, the role of traditional and new media, formation of public opinion, involvement of influencers, risks and challenges. Upon successful completion of the course, students will have specialized knowledge about the communication in non-governmental sector and will have improved their knowledge of the theory and practice of public relations. The course is based on practical examples from the international NGO sector and includes practical exercises alongside theoretical information.

After completing the course, a student:

  • knows the specifics of communication of non-governmental organizations;
  • Is equipped with the knowledge of communication strategies, required for proper functioning of non-governmental organizations;
  • Is able to analyse communication strategies and approaches.
  • Is able to use the acquired knowledge in the process of defining new communication trends;
  • Is able to use the acquired knowledge in the implementation of innovative communication approaches;
