Comments/contents:
Teachers of science subjects are expected to embody scientific practices such as ways of working, teach and inform about scientific research in school for decades. To do this, however, pre-service science teachers themselves first need knowledge and experience about science. This area of learning is described internationally as "nature of science", knowledge and understanding of how knowledge, especially theories, models, laws, etc., are created in the natural sciences in the first place.
This seminar is aimed at students who, if possible, are writing a Bachelor's thesis in a natural science subject at the same time. With this accompanying offer, which we have developed and tested several times in recent years, we would like to support students in reflecting on, comparing and generalizing their experiences with and in scientific research. The accompanying offer includes the joint development of an understanding of "nature of science". This understanding is to be sharpened by reflecting on one's own research experience.
The overall aim of the seminar is to be able to use the research experience gained in a bachelor's thesis in the subject specifically for one's own professionalization as a teacher.
