This face-to-face course is aimed at Masters-level students and will cover the essentials of Academic Writing in the English language. This will include how to structure your writing, making sure you use the correct register, how to introduce evidence in your writing, as well as academic vocabulary and punctuation. Students will be asked to provide written work throughout the course, and there will be an exam in the 12th week.
Enrollment requirements:
Proof of appropriate language level (minimum B2 for B2 courses, C1 for C1 courses), not older than three years.
This can be achieved by:
Taking our online placement test (link)
Submitting a language certificate from a course at the appropriate level (see website for accepted certificates).
Sending us a copy of the Transcript of Records from STiNE showing completion of a course at the appropriate level.
After sending us the required documents you can then go ahead and register for the respective course(s).
Registrations without proof of the appropriate placement test or certificate will be cancelled.
N.B. If you have already had your level assessed by us in the last three years or have already presented us with a certificate then you do not need to prove your level again.
Learning objectives:
By the end of the course, participants should be more comfortable writing academic texts in English. They should be able to write in a clearer and more concise manner, following a defined structure and using suitable vocabulary, grammar and punctuation.
