Introduction to Citizen Science from a research methodological perspective, with practical elements
Learning objectives:
Basic, independent and critical orientation skills in the field of Citizen Science
Didactic concept:
7 presence sessions of 3.5 hours each on basic topics and questions:
1) What is Citizen Science?
2) History of Citizen Science
3) Forms of Citizen Science
4) Criticism of Citizen Science
5) Citizen Science projects and portals / Setting up a CS project
6) Evaluation of Citizen Science projects
7) Citizen Science as a research method
Session Outline:
a) Homework assignment: preparatory reading, written work on questions related to preparatory reading, submission two days before seminar session.
b) Impulse presentation on basic literature
c) Discussion, interaction, group work etc. to deepen the session topic
