(a) Introduction to the basics of different philosophical subdisciplines relevant to IT, e.g. computer and information ethics, epistemology, philosophy of science and technology, etc.
(b) Application of these insights to issues such as the following: Big Data, Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, etc.
Learning objectives:
Students
(a) will acquire methodological and theoretical training to critically reflect upon the epistemic, ethical, political and societal premises and consequences of IT,
(b) learn the basics of different relevant philosophical sub-disciplines (computer ethics, epistemology, etc)
(c) apply the insights obtained to novel questioned related to the design, development or usage of IT

Additional examination information:
Regular attendance of the exercises is required.
The grade will comprise of:
- presentation in the exercise (20%)
- final essay (80%)
