Comments/contents: We will read the story of Prince Mahasattva's self-sacrifice. The textual basis is the reading from Hahn 1996, which is presented in lessons 14-18 as a continuous reading. Since we have already read the introductory part of Lesson 14 in the SLV Introduction to Classical Tibetan, we will start with the the subsequent direading from Lesson 15. Literature: Hahn, Michael. 1996. Lehrbuch der klassischen tibetischen Schriftsprache (siebte korrigierte Ausgabe). Swisttal-Odendorf: Indica et Tibetica Verlag. This language exercise is compulsory for third-semester students of Tibetan studies. Together with regular and active participation, it is expected that students thoroughly prepare for and revise the individual reading sessions. The semester closes with a written exam. This course takes place online via zoom. Please contact the lecturer for the access data. At the beginning of the semester it will be discussed whether and under what conditions face-to-face teaching will be possible.
