Comments/contents: Die Vorlesung hat zum Ziel, den Studierenden anhand der aktuellen Probleme der deutschen und europäischen Wirtschaftspolitik die Möglichkeit zu bieten, mit Hilfe konkreter Beispiele das theoretische Grundlagenwissen anzuwenden und zu vertiefen. Die Studierenden sollen zum Ende der Vorlesung einen umfassenden Überblick über wichtige wirtschaftspolitische Fragen bekommen haben. Ziel der Vorlesung ist es, die Studierenden für relevante und aktuelle Themen zu sensibilisieren und ihnen eine eigenständige Meinungsbildung in diesen Fragen zu ermöglichen. Anhand des Lehrstoffes soll gezeigt werden, wie volkswirtschaftliche Methoden auf ausgewählte Problematiken angewandt werden können und wie diese erklärt und bewertet und darauf basierend Handlungsempfehlungen gegeben werden können.
Didactic concept: This course is divided into 12 lectures, 2 SWS (i.e. 1.5 hours) each. Additionally, it is accompanied by introductory modules and a tutorial. The purpose of this tutorial is to give the students an opportunity to practise their knowledge gained in the lecture under guiding assistance as well as to set up room for discussions concerning current events in German and European economic policy.

Any material required for the lecture and/or tutorial will be uploaded on OpenOLAT.

The final exam will be a one-hour written exam and it will take place at the beginning of the semester break. In order to register for the final exam it is required to pass the mid-term exam.

Any student enrolled in the economics department can acquire 6 ECTS by passing the final exam. Students enrolled in other deprtments please check with their office for student affairs (Studienbüro) for potential deviations.
