Comments/contents: The course will deal with the four immesaurables (apramana/brahmavihara) in Indian Buddhism, one of the best known practices of spiritual cultivation throughout the history of Buddhism in India and beyond. We will read a longer passage on this set of four in the famous Mahayana treatise called Bodhisattvabhumi, a fundamental work of early Indian Yogacara Buddhism. The readings will be in Sanskrit. We will make use of "the Nepal Manuscript" of the Bodhisattvabhumi and compare it to the edition of Dutt. All materials are uploaded in Agora. For further information and the materials please refer to http://www.agora.uni-hamburg.de/ . The project room there is called Bodhisattvabhumi. The code to enter the room is bodhi34.
