Comments/contents:
The InnovationLab provides challenges from different partner organizations. Each challenge will be assigned to one or two groups of 5-6 students. Goal of this module is to innovate a new service or product idea in the area of the given challenge.

The challenges:
- provide a direction and an area
- leave free room for innovative ideas
- provide a potential user group
- have a concrete value for a user organization.

The modul InnovationLab 1 is combined with InnovationLab 2 which is building uppon InnovationLab 1. It is not possible to enroll only InnovationLab 1 without InnovationLab 2 in the following summer semester.

Dates for InnovationLab 1: 25.02-01.03.2021 (3 working days)

We are planning this module with attendence at the campus - if this is not possible, the module will be held via Zoom.

Learning objectives:
The students are able to do the following points after a succesful attendence:
- using agile working and innovative methods
- working in a team and anticipating a defined role
- evaluating and validating ideas and results
- developing a prototype or MVP

Results of the Innovation Challenge:
- validated Minimum Vialble Product (MVP)
- process report inclusive a reflection of the approach and usage of the methods

Didactic concept:
The module is a 3 day event in which the students learn how to use methods of a Design Thinking Process.

Procedure of registration (besides the stine registration):
- The ITMC students recieve an information via email about the module and need to reply that they want to take part of this module. Afterwards, they recieve access data for a Moodle room.
- The students register to the Moodle room.
- Information about the challenges is provided in the Moodle room ( normally 3 challenges to pick).
- The students send a priorization and explantation about the challenges.
- Depending on the priorization, the students are devided into groups to the challenges.

Procedure of the module:
- Introduction into the topic and introduction of the challenges in the groups
- using design thinking methods
- Presentation of the idea in a pitch of 5 minutes to the organizations and students
- submission of a process report (10 pages per group)
