A Master-level course on the Total scattering method, often called as Pair distribution function analysis, will be offered at the Institute of Mineralogy under the topic:
63-375: Aktuelle Anwendungen und Forschung in der Kristallographie
Total scattering method is an advanced experimental technique based on powder diffraction method, and requires high energy synchrotron radiation or spallation neutron source. In general, this is an exclusive tool to study the structure of disordered materials either crystalline or amorphous, which allows to determine the atomic arrangement of a system in real space.
