Comments/contents:
The lab course on "landscape ecology" focuses on the analyses of environmental samples (with special regard to soil and water samples). The Lab course is associated to LV 63-170- "field trip associated to the lab course on landscape ecology" taking place from November 2-4, 2018. During three days the field analyses and sampling will be done within the research site near the ecological station Pevestorf (University of Hamburg), http://www.pevestorfstation.de/).
The course is attributed to "Theories and specific methods" within the module "special and applied geography" or can be "facultative" and will be accounted with 3 LP.
Learning objectives:
The contents of the lab course are targeted on the conciliation of basic knowledge concerning the acquisition of empritical data starting of with field work and lab analyses. It is considered of utmost importance to know the way of generating data and not only to process already existing data sets. Besides general competences on the laboratory methods, the processing and evaluation of data is integrated. Thus, the validity and significance of data sets can be assessed more objectively.
Please do consider the appointment of the preliminary meeting on (provisional) Wednesday, October 24, 2018, 1 pm in room 838). Please do also participate wether you have not been considered by STiNE (on prior information via email to elke.fischer@uni-hamburg.de).
