Comments/contents:
The seminar will be held as a "reading course" of lectures: this means that the lectures will be presented by course participants. The seminar will be a block seminar consisting of 1 or 2 blocks in December and/or January. The concrete dates will be fixed in a first meeting (Thursday, 17th of October at noon).
The topic of the seminar are computational methods for mathematical imaging with a focus on inverse problems and links to optimization, approximation and partial differential equations.
The course is suitable for bachelor (about finishing BSc) and master students with a background in functional analysis. Some basic knowledge of optimization and convex analysis is also helpful, though not mandatory. The concrete topics wil be chosen according to the prior knowlege of the participants.
