Comments/contents:
Recent climate change has multifarious and complex implications for biodiversity. In Germany alone, some 25 % of c. 40.000 plant and animal species are threatened with population decline and extinction. Climate change-induced loss of biodiversity is one of the core challenges for humankind since numerous ecosystems services are concerned. This advanced seminar addresses current research results from climate change, climate impact and biodiversity research in order to generate comprehensive insights into the effects of climate change on biodiversity, ecosystems and ecosystem services.

Learning objectives:
Appropriation of comprehensive and integrative knowledge of relationships between climate change and biodiversity / scientific communication in english

Literature:
Independent enquiry, advice in first meeting and in office hours.
