Work-family reconciliation is a substantive matter with regard to the sustainability of societies. However, the possibilities to combine work and family obligations differ considerably between countries. In this seminar we examine
- which levels of society define and construct the work-family interface in daily lives and in the life course,
- which features on the macro, meso and micro level provide problems or solutions for the reconciliation of work and family and
- which groups in society are at risk.
Learning objectives:
Knowledge of the basic concepts for the analyses of work-family reconciliation.
Didactic concept:
Presentations by the lecturer and the students, group work, use of media (blogs & videos).
