Weitere Informationen: This course will introduce you to the fundamentals of academic writing, paying particular attention to structure, word choice, punctuation, and style; common mistakes, as well as tips for improving your academic writing skills, will also feature. The course work is based on a variety of materials and exercises designed to help you to plan, draft and write longer pieces in English and will be available for download. Practical tips and critical feedback provided are designed to serve the student far beyond their academic career and into professional life.
Grading is based on attendance and participation (40%), written and research assignments (40%), and a final exam (20%).


Anmeldevoraussetzungen:

passendes Einstufungsergebnis (mind. B2 für B2-Kurse, C1 für C1-Kurse), nicht älter als drei Jahre

Nachweis durch:

Ablegen des Online-Einstufungstests (Link)

Einreichung eines Sprachzertifikats auf dem Kursniveau (s. Website für akzeptierte Zertifikate).

Haben Sie schon zwei Kurse auf Niveau B2 bei uns gemacht? Dann senden Sie uns den Nachweis über das Transcript of Records aus STiNE und melden sich für einen C1-Kurs an.

Anmeldungen ohne Nachweis einer passenden Einstufung/eines passenden Zertifikats werden storniert.

Haben Sie sich seit 2020 schon einmal bei uns einstufen lassen oder uns bereits ein Zertifikat vorgelegt? Dann müssen Sie Ihr Niveau nicht erneut nachweisen.

Use of cognitive ties
Theme and rheme
Workflow and editing for conciseness
Paraphrasing
Avoiding plagiarism
Using the Academic Words List and phrase banks
Tools and strategies for editing and grammar
Literatur: - Personalized material will be provided by the instructor. - Paper free course, all digital pdf and ppt. - All materials will be provided over the CommSy workspace.
Zusätzliche Hinweise zu Prüfungen: The final exam is a multiple choice, gap-fill and written quiz which includes topics covered in the course.
The final exam will take place on the penultimate week of the course.
