Kommentare/ Inhalte: Als eine mittelindische Sprache ist das Pali für den Buddhismus in Indien von herausragender Bedeutung. In der Sammlung der in Pali verfassten Jatakas finden sich die ältesten Beschreibungen des altindischen Städtelebens. Darüber hinaus war Pali über Jahrhunderte die lingua franca des buddhistischen Klerus in Sri Lanka und Südostasien. Auch für an der Entwicklungsgeschichte indischer Sprachen Interessierte bietet Pali ein reiches Forschungsfeld.
Der Kurs richtet sich in erster Linie an Studierende, die bereits Kenntnisse in Sanskrit haben. Bitte kontaktieren Sie den Dozenten bei Fragen.

In this course we will read texts in Pali, mainly canonical teachings attributed to the Buddha. For all further information and material refer to AGORA: https://www.agoracommsy.uni-hamburg.de/ . In AGORA go to the project room "Pali Studies" and sign up using the code AT117. 
In order to participate you will need to have already done an introduction to Pali. You can equally join if you have successfully gone through the first year of learning Sanskrit.

  • -For MASTER AND BACHELOR STUDENTS THE COURSE REGISTRATIONS IN STINE IS MANDATORY: You must register for the course in STiNE in order to be eligible to participate and take exams.
  • -The lecturers enter the evaluations/grades in STiNE themselves. Only then are the grades/evaluations visible to students in Leistungskonto/Teilleistungen!
  • -If you miss a grade/assessment in STiNE or there is an incorrect entry, then you must contact the lecturer(s) and ask for the grade/assessment to be entered.
  • -If you receive certificates, these do not replace the entry of the grades/assessments by the lecturers STiNE (they must still enter the grades/assessments in STiNE).
  • -The examination department does not enter any grades in STiNE (exception: external achievements from other universities, which are recognized).
  • -Only if grades/assessments are entered in STiNE, the examination department can create Transcript of Records (grade sheet) and/or certificates for you.
