Kommentare/ Inhalte: The concept of resilience has been applied to a wide range of contexts: examples can be found in climate change, ecology, economical development, environmental law, minority languages and psychological research. Notwithstanding the use of the same term “resilience”, these disciplines differ greatly in the definition of resilience, the conceptual preassumptions at its basis and the methods employed. In this course we will bring to the table different perspectives on resilience and identify tensions and opportunities in interdisciplinary research. At the beginning of the course, the students will be able to choose their topic of interest within the context of resilience and to design their own research plan. The Zoom link for the first meeting will be sent via Stine on the 22nd May.
Zusätzliche Hinweise zu Prüfungen: 1) Group paper discussion 2) Design of a research plan Active participation in class discussion is required.
