Kommentare/ Inhalte: Diversity are hallmarks of our society. These can be along the dimensions of race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, socio-economic status, age, physical abilities, religious beliefs, political beliefs, or other ideologies. It is the exploration of these differences in a safe, positive, and nurturing environment. To celebrate this diversity, and cultivate harmony and respect for all peoples, educators must nurture equality and inclusion within the classroom or in any other setting where people learn and get support. Why does Diversity matter in pedagocical settings? How can we incorporate diversity into our settings, what are inclusive settings? Acknowledging and creating awareness about the contributions that the diversity bring to our society, we educators can encourage our students to spread this respect for diversity beyond school, in a lifelong perspective which implies an inclusive education and learning model that includes all. The perspective applied in the lecture is: Education and learning for community and for human development.
