This seminar course focuses on the role emotions play in learning and achievement. We will examine the emotions students typically experience in education settings, consider which interventions could be used to influence them, and explore how the effectiveness of these interventions could be evaluated.
Lernziel:
By the end of this seminar course, you should be able to:
- Describe the ways in which emotions are important for learning and achievement
- Identify reliable measures for assessing student emotions in education settings (e.g. school, university)
- Understand which interventions may be most appropriate for particular students in particular situations, and why
- Critically evaluate the effectiveness of a chosen intervention using appropriate theoretical and research knowledge
Vorgehen:
This seminar course will be taught through a combination of lecture-style teaching, group work and student presentations.
