Kommentare/ Inhalte: The systematic observation of groups is an important step towards understanding how people work together. How do groups make decisions? Which behaviors indicate who is perceived as group leader? And which statements are characteristic of a negative group mood.

Since the 1950s, interaction analysis has been used in group research to describe how group processes unfold over time and to answer the above questions. In this seminar, we will take a detailed look at the methodology. We discuss the necessary steps for carrying out interaction analysis, both for research and practice purposes. But more importantly, we apply the methodology by observing our own group behavior and making use of our TeamLab.
Lernziel: This seminar helps gain a deeper insight into the methodology of interaction analysis. Students acquire extensive knowledge and skills for coding observational data and thus gain access to important group processes. Advantages and disadvantages are discussed. Emphasis is placed on the practical application of the methodology and hands-on research experiences.
Vorgehen: In order to pass this course, you will need to:  actively participate in the seminar, including a group project; cover the required reading in your own time; final project report in English
