Kommentare/ Inhalte: The lecture aims to understand the ancient techniques of Greek sculptors, how they carved their statues, what materials and instruments they used. On the casts in the Gipsabguss-Sammlung, stages of carving process will be examined by following the traces left by the sculptor for us.
Lernziel: Basic knowledge of ancient techniques, materials, and working process of ancient Greek sculpture.

Literature reading should be done in accordance with the week’s subject. Presentations will be done in the Gipsabguss-Sammlung or in the Museum für Kunst und Gewerbe. Please note that presentations and seminar papers should also be in English. 3 LP: Presentation + Hausarbeit
