Kommentare/ Inhalte: 'Common Study Sessions' are three to five day student conferences that take place twice a year (once per semester) at one of our partner universities within the Sokrates program on 'criminal justice and critical criminology'. IF YOU WANT TO PRESENT A PAPER PLEASE CHOOSE THIS COURSE AND THE PREPARATION COURSE.
Lernziel: Learning about the construction of a good conference paper in the context of cultural and critical criminology. Learning how a good argument works. Presenting your paper in an international (student) conference. Participating in the discussions at the conference.
Vorgehen: We will meet on several Monday afternoons at 2pm to start discussing possible themes that you would like to present on. It is important that you have already some knowledge about the topic or an idea of your argument (e.g. because you have worked on that topic in your research seminar or in another seminar). Then we will start practicing how to build an original paper, how to convince, how to convey a message through your visuals, and how to give constructive and precise feedback to your peers. Before the conference (which may be digital or in person) we'll have rounds of public rehearsals.
