Kommentare/ Inhalte: Course Programme The GDPR part covers the following topics: a) Why GDPR?; b) An introduction to the GDPR’s structure; c) General principles and basic concepts of the GDPR; d) Key roles and features of the GDPR; e) The rights of Data subjects; f) Lawful processing of personal data; g) Complying with the EU GDPR; h) Privacy by design; i) Data protection impact assessments (DPIA); j) Breach reporting and responses; k) The role of DPO. L) Liabilities and sanctions; The Online part covers the following topics: a) introduction to online platforms; b) definition of online platforms and their categorization; c) regulatory challenges and EU legislative approach.
Lernziel: What will students achieve? By the end of the course, they'll be able to: · Identify the laws and regulations that pertain to data protection. · Identify the main positions of the GDPR, including key concepts, principles and data protection roles. · Explore rights of data subjects and their relevance in daily life. · Investigate obligations of data controllers and processors and related steps that need to be taken for complying with the GDPR. · Evaluate enforcement and compliance mechanisms under the GDPR. · Identify the privacy obligations that can apply to Online Platforms. · Understand the impact of Online Platforms on their rights and life.
