Kommentare/ Inhalte: UNFORTUNATELY THE SEMINAR WILL HAVE TO BE POSTPONED TO THE WINTER SEMESTER. STAY TUNED FOR PARTICULARS ON A ONE-OFF VIDEO LECTURE BY MATHIAS RISSE. This second installment in a new lecture series will bring eminent practitioners of philosophy and legal and political theory to Hamburg every summer semester. The series consists of three lectures (including discussion) and a one-day workshop, based on an emerging manuscript by the invited lecturer. This summer we will discuss Mathias Risse's emerging manuscript on the ethics of Artifical Intelligence, a new approach in the moral and political theory of our digital constellation. Mathias Risse is Lucius N. Littauer Professor of Philosophy and Public Administration of at the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University and Director of the Carr Center for Human Rights Policy, as well as Director of the McCloy program, a distinguished fellowship program for German students. He is the author of On Global Justice (Princeton 2012).
Lernziel: Students are to develop a capacity to engage with emerging cutting-edge literature and adopt a critical stance towards them.
Vorgehen: Students will thoroughly prepare the manuscript and engage in the Q and A in the lectures. They will structure the manuscript workshop in producing written individual or group comments on topics of their choice.
Literatur: The book MS will be distributed to participants upon registration.
Zusätzliche Hinweise zu Prüfungen: NOTE THAT IT WILL NOT BE POSSIBLE TO EARN CREDITS IN THIS SUMMER SEMESTER
