Kommentare/ Inhalte: In the summer semester 2020 we will continue the module Films in Southeast Asia with a programme of another six films made in different Southeast Asian nations. In agreement with the theme of several other events, such as a lecture series (Ringvorlesung), this semester we have chosen the special focus of Youth as red thread to tie the films and other events together. We invite students and other interested parties to attend the screenings which will take place in the SLM Kino with 50 seats. These movies will be shown at the University cinema, Medienzentrum der Fachbereiche SLMI + II, Fröbelstraße, next to Hanse-Beans and Heine Buchhandlung. 09.04.20: "Mukhsin" 23.04.20: "Dreamy Eyes – Mat Biec" 07.05.20: "Moon Hunter" (about the Thai student’s movement of the 1970s) 28.05.20: "First they killed my father" (on the KR regime 1975-79 in Cambodia) 11.06.20: "Isolated" Follows Surfers As They Encounter Untold Human Rights Atrocities In West Papua 18.06.20: "Gie" Students who attend at least four screenings and write a 3-page response paper about one of the films in its socio-cultural context, may earn students two credit points (2 LP) apart from the experience of watching intensely interesting filmic documents!
