Anmeldeverfahren:
- Ummelde- und Korrektur-Phase: Do., 20.04.20, 09:00 Uhr – Fr., 08.05.20 , 16Uhr Anmeldung/Ummeldung nur schriftlich über die Papier-STiNE-Anmeldeliste nach Rücksprache mit dem/der Dozent/in.
- Nur wer auf der Papier-STiNE-Anmeldeliste mit vollständigen Angaben zu Modulzuordnung und LP-Variante steht, kann in STiNE an- bzw. umgemeldet/akzeptiert werden.
- Eintrag in die Papier-STiNE-Anmeldeliste i.d.R. am Tag der ersten Veranstaltungssitzung nach Rücksprache mit dem/der Dozent/in. Dies ist ggf. dann auch ohne STiNE-Vormerkung möglich!
- Um eine Abmeldung zu erwirken, müssen Sie dafür sorgen, dass Sie NICHT auf der Papier-STiNE-Anmeldeliste stehen = Austragung aus der Papier-STiNE-Anmeldeliste bis Ende der Abmeldephase (Fr., 22.05.20) NUR nach Rücksprache mit dem/der Dozent/in möglich.

Kommentare/ Inhalte:
Based on the seminar “Extractive Industries in Southeast Europe: Labour, Resources, Life Projects and Prospects” (56-014), this excursion will provide first-hand insights into present-day livelihoods, life conditions, and social arrangements in (post-)industrial small-towns and cities of western and central Romania (Cluj, Cop?a Mica, Petrosani and Rosia Montana, to be confirmed). In each location, we will stay for two to four days. The plan is to meet and discuss with local experts in the domains of industry and regional planning, social workers and local activists, and occasionally with researchers and PhD students working in social sciences. While this approach cannot provide for a long-term, detailed observation of local social cohesion and subtle conflicts, it is well suited to elicit local inhabitants’ range of options, the constraints they face, and (possibly) the hopes they put in the future of their respective community.

Organisational Matters:
The excursion builds upon the seminar (56-014), which provides the theoretical groundwork and regional overview. Students intending to join the excursion are strongly advised to participate in the seminar. Basic knowledge of Romanian language may be an asset, but is no precondition for participation.
Depending on the number of participants, the Institute for Social and Cultural Anthropology will be able to provide travel grants of 250 to 400 EUR per student. The grant will not suffice to cover all the expenses incurred by each participant; therefore, students should be prepared to cover part of the expenses by their own funds. We are likely to depart from Hamburg by train early in the morning of 20 or 21 August; however, the travel dates are not yet definite. Upon arrival in Cluj, participants will travel together by public transport or (more likely) by a hired mini bus to travel onward. Please be prepared for simple accommodation. After approx. twelve days we will be returning to Cluj. The excursion will officially end there. At that point, students are free to decide if to travel onwards to other destinations in Romania at their own cost (and on the basis of their own travel insurance).

Durchführung der Lehrveranstaltung:
The excursion will be organized as an E-Learning-Seminar, further details will be explained via Agora. If you would like to take part in the excursion, please log in to the Agora-room SoSe2020 Excursion: Labour, Migration and Post-Industrial Prospects of Romanian Towns . Then, you will receive further information about the seminar.
As of April 2020, it is undecided whether or not the excursion can take place as planned.
Important Note:
Agora is the main communication tool. Therefore, please make sure that your UHH-Email-address (firstname.lastname@studium.uni-hamburg.de) will be checked regularly or that you will forward the emails to your private Email-address. All students are responsible for the on-time-receipt of seminar information.
