Kommentare/ Inhalte: In this course we cover the complex area of the various aspects of medical therapy and imaging, with a focus on the latter. In particular, we discuss the physics limits in today's medical imaging techniques and treat the question of how physics can bring an added value by pushing the limits further. Key aspects here are the spatial resolution and sensitivity in imaging of tumorous tissue and /or medical diagnostic agents. During the journal club these topics will be analyzed in view of the most modern developments in the fields. Students will also learn how to structure and how to discuss a scientific publication
Lernziel: At the end of the course, students will be familiar with modern methods in medicine imaging (PET, SPECT, MRI, CT, Multi-modal) and with the fundamental techniques for radiation-therapy.
