Kommentare/ Inhalte: The history of Human kind is a history of migration and movements, which are associated with different reasons and causes. Since the evolution of the hominid species mankind is on the move. To settle in new unknown areas for subsistence and economic reason, within the context of new inventions places before unreachable became possible to habitat; or in the consequence of climate changes, natural disasters or man-made crisis people would try to change their lebensraum. In this seminar we will take a look on the various movements of human kind, from the first out of Africa to colonization of the pacific islands. We will analyse the possible whys and how of theses migration and discuss the consequences of the spread of humanity.

Vorgehen: Seminar will be held in English Kontaktstudierende: 2 Successful participation in the seminar requires active contributions, which include the critical reading of the provided literature, preparation and follow-up. The participants have to present one topic as an oral presentation. For a module certificate a written contribution (2500 words) is also necessary. This should not be a summary of the presentation, but the topic should be discussed with a research question (more details will be discussed during the seminar).
