This course discusses the structures and processes of international organizations. Starting with the formal structures students will be familiarized with the structural design of organizations. The second part of the course focuses on the informal side of organizations and discusses well known phenomena such as organizational culture, political processes and garbage can models of decision making. Students should be encouraged to understand the relationship between formal and informal structures, their complementarities, but also possibly conflicting nature.
